Campaign Premise

The world is not threatened by a single great evil, but by the convergence of well-intentioned, desperate actions. The players must navigate a moral gray area, seeking sustainable solutions rather than simple victories. The setting is The Cantoral Archipelago (known in the Old Faith as Vae’alani, or The Bones of Vae'a), an expansive island chain inspired by the Renaissance Caribbean.

The local communities are plagued by The Salt Rot, a mysterious, debilitating illness that emerges every humid season. This disease accelerates the plans of three key figures: Elder Kaia (isolationism), Governor Alistair Finch (industrial trade), and Dr. Elias Thorne (dangerous cure experimentation).

The Battle of the Stilt Docks & The Miracle at the Brink

Party awoke at Level 6 in Gus's bunker. Briony crafted a living bio-seal (Nature 24) to mask the Siphon Core and Clarion crate. Brother Lorn and two cultists arrived at the Stilt Docks. In an intense battle, Briony (Polar Bear x2), Longstride (Sharpshooting), and Morrigan (Clutch Counterspell on Call Lightning) slew Brother Lorn and his fanatic escort. Looted the Salt-Blight Mace, Tide-Dowsing Pendulum, Elder Kaia's Letter (14-day Deep Moon timer), bone daggers, salt bomb, and coins/pearls. Gus panicked and tried to steal the crate to return it to the sea; party reasoned with him and used Pass without Trace to extract aboard the Shadow Sprinter. Morrigan's Sending to Zyla Vane failed (stone went dead cold). Morrigan and Briony channeled the Siphon Core, fulfilling Glasya's riddle and permanently curing Gus of his 30-year Salt Rot. Hovering above The Grandmother's Scar, poised to lower the Clarion into the glowing abyss. --

Gears & Grottos: A Traveler’s Guide to The Hollows

The Hollows is a magnificent disaster! Inside a sea cave whitewashed to reflect a single sunbeam, it’s a clandestine paradise of turquoise paint and Seaweed Gin. The bridges have a 40% collapse rate, but that’s just part of the charm. 4.5 Cogs—structural chaos at its finest!
