A quiet, salt-bleached island on the southern edge of the archipelago — quieter than it should be.

Canon Facts

• Small island region at the outer edge of the archipelago
• Party arrived end of S10 (Day 8), outpacing Brother_Lorn by approximately 2 hours
• Briony (giant octopus) retrieved the single 45 lb Clarion crate from the Bleached Lady wreck on Glimmer Reef
• The outer reef’s calcification is decades of ambient ley-line leakage from The Grandmother’s Scar, not caused by the crate — confirmed in S11 by Gus
• Brother Lorn is dead — slain by the party at the Stilt Docks of Low-Hela, S11, Day 8. Kaia does not yet know.
• Party is currently sheltering at Gus’s Bunker on the cliffs above Low-Hela
• The Drift is ~1 day’s sail north

Overview

A peripheral island region that most sailors pass around rather than through. The treacherous outer reef makes approach dangerous except for those who know the channels. It has three parts: the bleached barrier reef of Glimmer Reef, the stilt-dock village of Low-Hela (The Spit) where the party landed, and the inner island of Great Hela, Elder Kaia’s seat. Atmosphere

• Visuals: Bone-white coral on the reef’s edge. Turquoise shallows over pale sand. The inner village is weather-beaten but inhabited.
• Sounds: Wind through the reef-rock. The creaking of the Shadow Sprinter at anchor. Distant surf.
• Smells: Salt, brine, and the faint mineral tang of Clarion-touched water.

Key NPCs

• Gus — Retired salvage diver; Tide Caller contact; owns the bunker. Cured of Salt Rot in S11; devoted ally, now at the Shadow Sprinter’s helm.
• Brother Lorn — Dead. Killed at the Stilt Docks, S11, Day 8.
• Elder Kaia — Seated at Great Hela (The Weeping Cloister). Not yet met on this island.

Glimmer Reef

The bleached outer barrier reef, ~1 mile seaward. A reef, not a village.

The Bleached Lady Wreck

The dive site on Glimmer Reef where the Clarion crate was stashed. Sank ~60 years ago. Hold now empty.

The Grandmother’s Scar

The ancient ley-line trench in the seabed beneath the reef — the cause of the calcification, and the sacred locus of The Grandmother of the Waters, awakened by the Clarion’s return. Sectioned in The_Bleached_Lady.

Low-Hela (“The Spit”) — The Stilt Docks

The stilt-dock fishing village where the party landed and fought Brother Lorn. Pragmatic fisherfolk, smugglers, retired divers.

Gus’s Bunker

Hidden safe house on the cliffs above Low-Hela. Current party shelter. Classified location.

Great Hela

The inner island. Elder Kaia’s power base, the pearl temples of the Children of the Salt, and the site where the Shuttering Ritual is being prepared. Not yet visited.
