Siren's Rest
VisitedSiren’s Rest
Overview
A solitary, multi-story structure built atop a sheer spire of rock rising from the deep ocean. It functions as a neutral ground tavern, inn, and post office for the region. The only access is via a pulley-lift system for small boats or a treacherous spiraling stair carved into the rock.
The Rule of Sanctuary
“No blood on the boards.”
- Inside the Rest, all hostilities cease. Atlas captains drink alongside pirate lords. Breaking this rule results in a swift, watery grave courtesy of the proprietor.
Key NPCs
- The Proprietor (Madame Zephra): A mysterious woman of ambiguous aquatic lineage (perhaps a Triton or Sea Elf). She enforces the peace with a silent, terrifying gaze and a hidden arsenal.
- Naming note: formerly written as “Madame Zyla.” Renamed to avoid collision with Zyla Vane, bosun of the Nebuchadnezzar, who is a different and unrelated person.
Features
- The Common Room: A rowdy, warm hall with a massive hearth burning “ghost-wood” that burns blue and smells of vanilla.
- The Message Board: A cluttered wall of wanted posters, job offers, and personal messages for passing sailors.
- The Dive: A literal hole in the floor in the center of the room that drops 100 feet into the sea, used for waste disposal and “exiting” unruly patrons.
